Last Friday I attended Housing + Transit: Getting on Track in Austin, organized by the UT Opportunity Forum and HousingWorks Austin. The recent ongoing discussions of Project Connect was an impetus for this program, as housing has not been at the forefront of these transit planning conversations. Summer Urban Planning and Design Intern Position Available in Austin

The urban design and planning summer intern is a full-time 12 to 16 week position working closely with Asakura Robinson’s planning staff on a number of planning processes. The position will be based in Austin, Texas. Plans currently under development include mobility, bicycle, pedestrian and transit planning, urban design, community outreach and comprehensive plans at a number of scales, from neighborhood to regional. Last week at the Texas Trails and Active Transportation Conference, Fort Worth’s Mayor Betsy Price spoke about how promoting a healthy city is a form of economic development.
