It is with a very heavy heart that Asakura Robinson announces the passing of long-time principal, Patrick Chang.

We are deeply saddened to share this news with our friends and colleagues. Pat’s presence will be sorely missed as a dedicated and irreplaceable team member. Pat first worked with Keiji at SLA Studio Land (1995-2005), before joining Asakura Robinson (2005) almost a year to the day after we opened our doors. He was loyal to Keiji and Margaret, his team, and his clients to the very end.

Those who worked with Pat know him for his dedication to his projects, his technical knowledge and his commitment to work tirelessly to meet his deadlines and keep his clients happy. The principals agree, our firm would not be what it is today without Pat’s hard work; and we will be forever grateful.

Pat loved what he did; he earned his Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from Oklahoma State, and he was proud of his early experience at Sasaki Associates (1990-1992) and Mesa Design Group (1992-1995) in Dallas. In Houston, he excelled as a project manager and was first rate at overseeing construction and site issues. Among his favorite projects are Sugar Land Town Square; the Plaza at Enclave; and multiple streetscape improvement projects for the Westchase District. Our hearts go out to Pat’s wife, Ann, and his family overseas.

Pat passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 15th. If you would like to send your condolences please email to info@asakurarobinson.com and we will pass them along to the team and his family.
