Asakura Robinson Company provided a landscape plan for Virginia Point, Houston’s first LEED Platinum home, recognized as achieving the very highest level of sustainable design.
The landscape plan takes into careful consideration the large footprint on the home’s compact urban lot. Landscaping was limited by the inclusion of an extensive deck which wraps around the home and geothermal pipes which are immersed throughout the site. To maximize the potential for plant material a “Greenscreen” was installed and planted with vines, native plant material was installed throughout the back yard and side deck, pots and planters where maximized and edible herbs and citrus were planted as both an educational visual and a functional element in the front of the home.
